This year Dior revisits its range of sun protection and after-sun products and offers items with beautiful texture, ultra fresh and sensory.
The 3 new products are:
- Beautifying Protective Milky Mist Sublime Glow SPF 30 (Lait en Brume protecteur, hâle sublime)
- Beautifying Protective Oil in Mist Sublime Glow SPF 15 (Huile en Brume protectrice, hâle sublime)
- After-Sun Ultra Fresh Monoï Balm
The 2 mists feature the new diffuser (360° spray) that allows you to easily reach all the areas of the body and this is super convenient. This may be a small thing, said like that, but it's actually the first time I see such a diffuser. With 1 pression, you get product on a large area. This is indeed really convenient to get product also under your kees, on the sides of your legs etc. I really appreciate this diffuser, seriously the best I've seen so far!...and I'm very picky when it comes to mists! :D
Beautifying Protective Oil in Mist Sublime Glow SPF 15
This is an oil-in-mist that is delivered as a transparent product on the skin. It moisturizes the skin (thanks to the oil) and protects it from the sun at the same time (thanks to the UVA and UVB filters).
This is an oil but it doesn't feel sticky at all. It does leave the skin shiny (like when you put an oil on your skin) for a few minutes but ist not greasy, and then this shiny looks disappears and leaves the skin looking satiny, supple and natural. When you apply it, you can immediately feel how moisturizing it is. My legs always tend to be dry but when I apply it, they look so healthy and moisturized! I was a bit shocked the first time!
So yes, in one word: it's a clear mist sunscreen dispensed as a lightweight, silky, non-greasy oil that moisturizes the skin and leaves it satiny and healthy looking. It gives a very natural glow to the skin.
Importantly it protects the skin from UVA and UVB. I wouldn't recommand a SPF15 to go to the beach because it's quite low but it's OK as a city sunscreen if you don't deliberately expose yourself to the sun. The Skin Cancer Foundation maintains that SPFs of 15 or higher are necessary for adequate everyday protection (1). For more intense exposure, go for a higher SPF. I also particularly love that the UVA protection is definitely there and strong.
It's water-resistant and can also be used on the hair!

Application tips: Spray generously before sun exposure and reapply frequently, especially after swimming. Do not apply directly to the face, spray onto your hands before application.
I've tried also using it on the hair and it does work nicely. It's actually the first hair sunscreen I have! Do you have sunscreens you apply to your hair? Please let me know! A hat can do the trick but we don't always like wearing hats, right? especially in our daily life, to go to work etc.
Don't over use it otherwise it can make your hair greasy but using a normal amount (what is a normal amount? a couple of sprays I would say), it's OK!
In terms of sunscreens, it contains homosalate, octocrylene, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, ethlyhexyl salicylate, diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (Uvinul A Plus, anti-UVA), bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (Tinosorb S, anti-UVA and UVB), benzophenone-3 (weak sunscreen but helps stabilize other filters).
I'm happy to see it contains 2 of my current favorite sunscreens: Uvinul A and Tinsorb S!
Uvinul A Plus protects really well against UVA (it's more difficult to find good anti-UVA filter!) and Tinosorb S is a broad-spectrum UV absorber, absorbing UVB as well as UVA rays. Both Unvinul A and Tinsorb S are highly photostable.
Other ingredients are alcool, coconut oil and fragrance. Alcohol is present in high amount but weirdly enough I can't detect it on the skin and as I said, it leaves the skin so moisturized that I didn't expect it so high in the list. That said I find it very difficult to find a body sunscreen I like and that makes me want to use it every day (I'm super careful for my face but less for my body...I know silly, but that's how it is). So I'm OK to make compromise and to use products even with alcohol if I like how they apply and feel.
Beautifying Protective Milky Mist Sublime Glow SPF 30
This is a milk-in-mist that is delivered as a milky lotion on the skin. The difference with the oil-in-mist is that you have to massage it in a bit more and it dries almost instantly to a matte finish. It also leaves the skin moisturized but I have the impression that the oil version feels a bit more moisturizing. It doesn't leave any sticky residue on the skin.
Another difference with the oil mist is that this one offers a higher proection in terms of SPF (SPF 30). In terms of ingredients, it doesn't contain alcohol, so if you don't like alcohol in your product, this one is better suited for you.

On the paper, everything indicates I would love this milky mist more than the oil mist (higher SPF, no alcohol) but in real life, I've been using the oil mist more often. I prefer the finish and it's so quick and easy to use. The milk is also great, don't get me wrong but you have to massage it in while with the oil, you don't. It takes 10sec more maybe, that's not much but when you're lazy, ...you know how it is lol
That said,..seriously, I've been using both and I enjoy both of them. I would keep the oil mist (SPF 15) for a daily usage (when you don't expose yourself to the sun, just to go from home to work and back) and the milk (SPF 30) when I need a bit more protection, like...for a day shopping :D
After-sun Care - Ultra Fresh Monoï Balm
The new Dior Bronze after-sun care refreshes and hydrates skin dried out by the sun. Upon application, your tan is instantly and lastingly embellished and the skin is infused with the delicate scent of Polynesian flowers.
It's a cream texture that feels really fresh when applied. When you say "cream" you don't expect a fresh feeling but here it's the case. It feels more like if you were applying a gel than a cream.
It leaves the skin vevelty and is absorbed immediately. Therefore there is no residue left on the skin. It just feels soothed and moisturized.
The con for me is that I expected more antioxidants in it. It lacks antioxidants in my opinion, especially for an after-sun care. This is mainly a an ultra-fresh, lightweight yet very moisturizing, melt-in texture that is indeed just delicious and feels really good on the skin! It's mainly formulated with emollients and skin softening agents, such as isononyl isononanoate, mango seed butter and coconut oil for example. So a fresh and enjoyable moisturizing body cream with a beautiful monoï scent. I have also the impression that it made my skin more evenly tanned (subtle tan), as I got a few comments on that!

Dior J'adore Body Mist
According to Dior:
"Airy and sensual, this precious mist envelops the body in a delicate, refreshing cloud of scent and maintains the skin's moisturization.A formula for more beautiful and instantly soft skin. A new, irresistible way to enhance your skin and bathe it in the scent of J'adore."
The legendary notes of J'adore, such as rose and ylan ylang are present in this mist along with a new enriched jasmine extract. I find it different than J'adiore, a bit softer and perfect for everyday. As it's a body mist, it doesn't last as long as a fragrance but I find it pretty nice if you don't want something too obvious but something on the subtle side. I really like it!! It's a new favorite sitting on my desk :D
Have you tried any of these or are you going to try them? If you have other body sunscreens you like, please let me know!
